SOUTH CAPE
by Cape Cross – Another great month for SOUTH CAPE! After a
cracking sixth in the £85,000 Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal
Ascot, he followed up with an equally impressive run at Ascot three
weeks later in the £150,000 Totesport International. Just missing
out on a spot in the Winners Enclosure by a nose, he was forever
genuine and ran to the best of his current ability. SOUTH CAPE then
missed out on a victory by the shortest of heads at Chester
yesterday but is sure to better that performance when he returns to
the track later this month. Owner hotline press 11 for SOUTH
CAPE.

KASHMINA
by Dr Fong – The latest horse in our partnership string,
KASHMINA is a striking 3-year old filly by the outstanding
middle distance Sire DR FONG (a winner of 4 Class 1 races
and placed 8 times in Group company (9.7f)). Already placed on the
flat when trained by Mick Channon, current trainer Sheena West
recently purchased KASHMINA with hurdling in mind and to bring more
wins to her already successful yard. 5% shares in this partnership
are only £695 and at the time of writing only 8 remain! Next stable
visit Saturday 9th August at 10am. Owner Hotline dial
12 for KASHMINA.

TOBAGO BAY
by Tobougg – It’s now 2 out of 3 wins for TOBAGO BAY over
hurdles, last time out at Stratford still managing to finish third
even though he was giving a stone to the first two. His next target
looks to be on Thursday 21 August at Stratford again but, due to
race conditions, just carrying a 10lbs penalty. TOBAGO BAY is rated
123 over hurdles and his transformation is a dream come true for
his patient owners. His main target for this year is the big
Juvenile Hurdle at Cheltenham in October but a spin on the flat is
also a strong possibility – his rating of 50 looking too good to
waste! Owner hotline press button 13 for TOBAGO
BAY.

ALMIZAN by
Darshan – In preparation for three target races all at Fontwell
Park – August 21, September 7 and September 25 (all 2mile 6f
Handicap Hurdles) ALMIZAN enjoyed a short break last month. He had
a warm-up outing last Thursday at Stratford but was not 100% fit
and found the trip a little too short. ALMIZAN is a course
specialist at Fontwell Park, already winning three times there, and
we hope he can add yet another victory at one of the above
meetings. Owner hotline press 14 for ALMIZAN.

OR JAUNE
(Fr) by Grand Tressor - Fontwell Park Racing – OR JAUNE will be
back in full-training sometime this month and hopefully winning
races come September/October or once the ground retains some juice.
He is still light cantering everyday and I have been fortunate
enough to ride him myself of late - he is one hell of a horse! So
powerful – no chance to relax on this fellow unless I want to end
up on the floor! OR JAUNE will go steeplechasing full-time on his
return and is an absolute natural over the larger obstacles – a
hopeful runner for the 2009 Cheltenham Festival for sure. Owner
hotline press 15 for OR JAUNE.

CUBAN
RHYTHM by Kingmambo – A disappointing month for CUBAN RHYTHM,
who after showing so much promise in her first two outings appears
to be idling somewhat in her races. Regular jockey Steve Drowne
worked her in headgear for the first time on Wednesday and this
made a big difference which is encouraging. With all the rain
around at present we expect some entries this week, possibilities
include: Windsor 10 August, Sandown Park 13 August and Newbury 16
August all 3yo only races over 10 furlongs. Owner hotline press
16 for CUBAN RHYTHM.

ENTHUSIUS
by Generous – Fontwell Park Racing – Enthusius or ‘The Beast’
as he is affectionately known by some of his owners is due to
commence ridden work any day now. He has really grown and
strengthened-up during his time off and is sure to develop into a
different animal once he gets back on the track this autumn – and
he has already won two races! Owner hotline press 17 for
ENTHUSIUS.

CLEAR
DAYLIGHT by DAYLAMI – A pleasing performance on his return to
racing as a 3-year old at Lingfield Park on Saturday evening,
especially considering the horse was not 100% fit and the distance
too short. Trainer John Best wanted to give the horse a ‘blow the
cobwebs away’ outing before sending him over his target distance of
1mile 2furlongs next time out. We are extremely confident of a
victory in the very near future with this individual who also has
the potential to go hurdling in due course. Owner hotline press
19 for CLEAR DAYLIGHT.

TIM
(stable name) an unnamed 2yo colt by BERTOLINI – Unfortunately
this colt picked up a virus which gave him a snotty nose at the
beginning of July but we are delighted to report he is now
completely over the virus and back in full-training. Owners are
very close to naming the horse now and speaking to Joe Tuite,
Mick’s Assistant trainer, he said “it was a shame he picked up this
slight setback but he will be a very nice horse in time.” Owner

PRIMA
FONTEYN by IMPERIAL DANCER – On paper disappointing so far but
looking at her pedigree, we believe she will need a mile plus
before showing her potential. Mick Channon has run her in races
below this distance because she has been difficult to train on the
gallops. PRIMA FONTEYN has shown some improvement on her last two
outings at Newbury however and we are confident she will continue
to improve with time, and maybe even with a change in tactics.
Owner hotline press 22 for NELLY.

MOSHAHED
by Nashwan – Fontwell Park Racing – As MOSHAHED’s work
increases, Brendan Powell’s opinion of the horse follows suit and
the trainer has already pencilled in two potential races for the
horse both at Worcester on 19 August over 3miles – one a handicap
chase, one a Novice chase. MOSHAHED enjoyed a break earlier this
year and it appears to have done him the world of good, regular
work rider Nathan also noticing a marked difference since the
horse’s return. Owner hotline press 23 for
MOSHAHED.

DICEY
AFFAIR by MEDICEAN – This smashing filly trained by Gary Moore
has been working very well against his other 2-year olds and was
due to make her racecourse debut at Sandown Park last month.
However, she was found to have a slight snotty nose and a recent
scope has shown she is still a little dirty in her airways. A
common occurrence with two-year olds (like young children) Gary has
administrated a course of antibiotics and hopes to have her ready
to race by next week. Owner hotline press 24 for LINDY
LOU.

WHITE
STAR – WHITE STAR enjoyed his 4th double clear in the
Newcomers class last weekend and is now aimed at the 2nd round
Newcomer classes with a view for qualification for Horse of the
Year 2009. The great day didn't end there for White Star! Justin
felt his progress warranted a debut in the Foxhunter Class and he
successfully negotiated the 1.20m course and scored an amazing
double clear first time out! This week WHITE STAR competes at
Addington where, if qualified, he’ll take part in the final on
Friday 8 August. It’s then off to Belguim for the International
Young Horse Championship!
