RED YARN is a five year old home bred mare
by sensational miler LUCKY STORY. Her dam is our successful mare
AUNT RUBY who has only bred winners so far including SOUTH CAPE,
RUBILINI, RELATIVE ORDER and EYE FOR THE GIRLS. RED YARN had an
excellent place record as a two year old but got off the mark with
a fabulous win at Lingfield in July 2010. She followed up with a
very good third at Salisbury in a higher grade
race.
We had high expectations for RED YARN in
2011, and there were a couple of placed efforts but overall her
season has not gone like we would have hoped. At the beginning of
November 2011 she moved yards to the stables of our newest trainer
Joe Tuite, who did such a great job this season with our other
quirky filly INTERAKT. We expect RED YARN to thrive in a smaller
yard, and Joe already plans to take this fillly out hunting to fire
her up before returning to racing in
January.
RED YARN is a well bred, talented and
extremely attractive mare, and we have no doubt that Joe will have
her back in the winners enclosure before
long!

At a stable
visit on 10th December 2011 at Joe Tuite's yard owners were able to
see how well RED YARN (centre) has settled in at her new home. She
looked fantastic and Joe is looking forward to running her on the
all weather in January. What a pretty girl she is! Photos taken by
owner Helen Leatham, thank
you.

Lingfield

Jockey - George
Baker
RED
YARN had been "knocking on the door" for some time and had been
very unlucky not to have won earlier in the year. This time she was
given a very firm ride by George Baker and having been headed with
a furlong to go she battled back to win
cosily.
This
race was over 7 furlongs and Gary Moore believes she is better over
a mile.

WE SHOULD HAVE
WON!
RED
YARN suffered serious interference at Kempton - we think she would
have won with a clearer run! See what you think by watching the

RED YARN was 6th first time out, then 3rd
and now 2nd twice.
First
time out in 2010, RED YARN was just
beaten
when a
fast finishing 2nd at Lingfield Park & Kempton
Park.
She
went on to win at Lingfield and run an excellent third at
Salisbury.

Group races in Hong Kong.)
Not
only does RED YARN have interesting breeding, but as the right-hand
picture shows she is an exceptionally powerful filly who has a
great presence about her. She also looks a lot like her sire
