- ONLY 7 MONTHS SINCE ARRVING AT JUSTIN'S YARD, WHITE STAR PROVES
HE IS ONE OF THE BEST 16 HORSES IN THE COUNTRY WITH QUALIFICATION
FOR THE NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS AT THE PRESTIGIOUS ROYAL INTERNATIONAL
HORSE SHOW - HICKSTEAD 2009 |

- What an amazing weekend our Owners had at the Winter Novice
Qualifiers at The Grange. Both WHITE STAR and
CHINA GIRL jumped double clear and went head-to-head in
the final round. WHITE STAR was one of the first to go
and Justin carefully guided him to another clear round.
CHINA GIRL
went round in an exceptional time but had one of the last fences
down - otherwise she would have won.
After
a seemingly endless amount of time the judges announced that "Heart
of the South White Star" was the winner of this year's first Winter
Novice Qualifiers. (CHINA GIRL came a wonderful
fourth)
Heart
of the South are extremely excited that the UK's first ever
professionally run Show Jumping Syndicate has a horse
qualified for the Novice Championships at the prestigious Royal
International Horse Show Hickstead 2009. The Owners can't wait
for their big day...!
CHINA GIRL
continued an excellent weekend for Justin, Beth and Heart of the
South with qualification in the Blue Chip Foxhunter

- WHITE STAR's
trip to The Hand last week pays dividends. His second Indoor
competition of the year resulted in a fantastic performance in both
the Newcomers and Foxhunter Classes. WHITE STAR won the
Newcomers and came 3rd in the Foxhunter Class. Well done to Justin
and WHITE STAR from all of the Owners. |

- In a warm up for this weekend's Indoor Competition at Coombe
Park, WHITE STAR and CHINA GIRL were both
competing at The Hand EC. WHITE STAR jumped first in
the Newcomers and had a clear 2nd round. Justin wanted to use this
competition more as training to get WHITE STAR used to
Jumping Indoors again after the Outdoor Season.
CHINA
GIRL was extremely impressive with Double Clears in both the
Foxhunter and 1.25m classes recording a fantastic 4th place against
the clock in the 1.25m class. |

- Both WHITE STAR and CHINA GIRL are working
very well at home and preparing for the Indoor season
starting. |

- WHITE STAR and
CHINA GIRL both performed extremely well at Redpost
Equestrian Centre.
WHITE STAR came
1st in the Newcomers class.
CHINA GIRL
came 4th in the Foxhunter class.

- WHITE STAR and
CHINA GIRL both performed superbly on their return to
competition at a beautifully sunny Redpost Equestrian Centre.
WHITE STAR jumped Double Clear and came 2nd in the
Newcomers class and jumped a perfect Double Clear in the Foxhunter
class.
CHINA GIRL
came 3rd in the same Foxhunter class and gave all the owners an
extremely exciting clear round in the 1.25m class and then had the
second to last fence down in the jump off in what were slightly
sticky conditions.

- WHITE STAR and
CHINA GIRL - Are back in action at Redpost Equestrian Centre
on Sunday in a range of Newcomer and Foxhunter classes. |

- WHITE STAR and
CHINA GIRL have been enjoying a well earned break over the
last couple of weeks partly due to the appalling weather conditions
experienced at the outdoor shows. Justin feels that a short rest
now will pay dividends in the later stages of the Indoor
Season. |

- WHITE STAR and CHINA GIRL - go head-to-head
at the Mid Somerset Agricultural Show. The ground was extremely
heavy and WHITE STAR with a second place
beckoning finished in fourth place after having the last fence
down in the jump off. CHINA GIRL jumps clear but has time
faults due to the extremely heavy and cut up ground. An excellent
result for both horses in such heavy conditions. |

- CHINA GIRL performs well in the Foxhunter Class at
Bicton with 4 faults in the jump off. |

- After a well earned day off on Saturday, WHITE STAR
comes 3rd in the South West Young Horse Championship held at Bicton
Devon. |

- UNIQUE DEUX owners swap their shares in the horse for a 6
year old Grey Mare - CHINA GIRL - which came second in an
International young horse class in Arezzo, Tuscany in the Spring.
Heart of the South's aim is to offer our owners all the enjoyment
of owning top quality show jumping horses. Unique Deux wasn't
quite ready to progress to where we want our horses to be and
therefore we are able to offer owners another option -
CHINA GIRL. Unique Deux will now return to our training yard
in Cornwall whereby we will look to use him in early 2009 as our
third syndicate. |

- WHITE STAR competed superbly in the Final of the British 5 year
Old Championship but unfortunately had the second to last fence
down and therefore didn't the jump off. All Owners were extremely
happy with WHITE STAR's performance over the Championship and
how much this excellent young horse has progressed since we bought
him in the Spring. Well done to Justin from all the Owners of
WHITE STAR. |

- WHITE STAR proves once again what a fantastic prospect
he is with a superb display over a very difficult track with 1.20m
- 1.25m fences. Whilst he had one fence down he qualifies easily
for the Young Horse Championship Finals on Friday 8/8/08 - please

- WHITE STAR jumps clear in the Non-British Bred 5year
old Young Horse qualifiers at a very wet Addington Manor. Extremely
pleased to see him jump so well over a track of 1.20m - 1.25m with
Owners travelling from Devon and West Sussex to see his excellent
performance. |

- Pleased to report that Justin is back in the saddle following his
injury and is extremely pleased with how UNIQUE DEUX and
WHITE STAR are progressing. |

- Unfortunately Justin was not well enough to ride this weekend,
however he is looking to get back in the saddle this week. The
injury to Justin's back meant that he had to decline a chance to
ride in the Queens Cup at Hickstead over the weekend which is a
terrible shame for Justin and his family. We are now all looking
very forward to WHITE STAR competing at the British Young
Horse Championships at Addington and UNIQUE DEUX's next competition

- White Star completes his 4th double clear in the Newcomers class.
He is now aimed at the 2nd round Newcomer classes with a view for
qualification for Horse of the Year 2009. The great day didn't end
there for White Star. Justin felt that White Star's progress
warranted his debut in the Foxhunter Class. White Star didn't let
himself down - he successfully negotiated the 1.20m track and
scored an amazing double clear first time out. A special thank to
Justin Tuff who was badly hurt in the previous class on another of
his rides, but he went on to secure White Star's debut double clear
in the Foxhunter Class in considerable pain - we wish Justin a
speedy recovery. |

- Unique Deux jumps two clear rounds at Redpost Equestrian Show.
Justin is keen to enter Unique Deux for as many shows as possible
over the coming weeks to continue Unique Deux's training with a
view to competing in Foxhunters at the earliest opportunity. Unique
Deux continues to work well at home over 1.20m. |

- White Star's progress continues with another double clear in the
Bicton Main Ring Newcomers Class. As the commentator rightly
stated "That horse can jump!". Not only did he record another
double clear he also came 3rd which is a fantastic result. Unique
Deux also had a good day with another careful, measured clear
round. |

- White Star completes another double clear to come 5th in the
Newcomers Class at Bicton Devon. Unique Deux also gets a clear
round but misses the jump off by the matter of a few seconds.

- White Star gets a double clear in the 1.10m Novice Class at
Redpost. Justin is extremely happy with the horse and "feels that
with patience White Star could be as good as Retro". The Owners of
Retro has recently been offered a significant amount of money for
the horse |
