LIGHTNING SPIRIT is a four year old daughter of 3 time Gr. 1 winner STORMING HOME out of our own mare LUCKY DICE. She is a big strong filly who is very popular in the yard and amongst her owners for her lovely nature and great attitude. She has had to overcome more than her fair share of bad luck, including injuries, illness, bad draws and a few uninspired rides, but she keeps coming back for more and finally she has now become a winning racehorse!

It took eight races to get her winning but she won her first race at Kempton on 27th October 2011 under a great Ryan Moore ride. Now that we have got the hang of her we expect to see further success and she will be in action throughout the 2012 flat season.

Kempton Park Racecourse 27th October 2011 Jockey - Ryan Moore LIGHTNING SPIRIT wins in great style! Ryan Moore rode a brilliant race getting the filly out of the stalls quickly and into a good position from the start. Recently the filly has been too far back in the early stages of the race and hasn't been able to make up enough ground later in the race despite finishing well. She won comfortably, Ryan pushing her out with hands and heels to win by 3/4 length. What a truly memorable day for all her loyal owners! Click on the photo opposite to see her winning!
Newbury Racecourse 16th April 2010 Jockey - Liam Keniry LIGHTNING SPIRIT made her debut in a hot Newbury maiden in April over 7 furlongs and ran very well and prominntly before getting a little tired in the closing stages. She was given a nice introduction and it was a performance full of promise. Both Gary Moore and the jockey Liam Keniry were delighted with her. A number of the horses from this race have gone onto win so the form is good.

The Sire STORMING HOME was a tough, sound globetrotting racehorse who won races in each of his four seasons on the track. His 8 wins on 3 continents included: The King Edward VII Stakes (Gr. 2) as a 3yo, The Emirates Airlines Champion Stakes (Gr1) as a 4yo and a US Handicap worth £150,000, The Charles Whittingham Handicap (US, Grade 1), Clement L Hirsch Memorial Turf Championship (US, Grade 1) at 5 years of age. STORMING HOME is really starting to make his name as a stallion, in 2010 his son LION TAMER won the Gr 1 Victoria Derby at Flemington in Australia and son JAKKALBERRY won the Gr 1 Gran Premio di Milano in Italy. He has also sired some very nice fillies including Gr 2 Ribblesdale winner FLYING CLOUD and listed winner MARY'S PRECEDENT.
